  • For standard applications, choose an economical SBR pressure-sensitive adhesive.
  • For high-temperature environments (up to 200°F), an acrylic PSA is available.
  • Important Note: When using heavy-duty Whispermat composites, contact adhesives or mechanical fasteners are recommended for a more secure bond.

• Absorbs Sound Waves: The exposed Hushcloth® foam absorbs airborne noise, preventing echoes and creating a quieter environment.
• Reduces Vibration: Whispermat1 acts as a mass damper, minimizing vibration in sheet metal, plastic, and wood surfaces. This further reduces noise transmission.

Key Applications:

• Walls and Ceilings: Whispermat1 can be applied directly to walls and ceilings to dampen noise and improve soundproofing.
• Flooring Underlayment: When used with a decoupler pad (1/4″ or 1/2″ thick), Whispermat1 becomes an effective carpet underlayment, reducing noise transfer from footsteps and impact.
• Pipe Wrap: The exposed barrier surface is tough and durable, making Whispermat1 suitable for pipe wrap applications. A facing can be added for increased weather resistance.
• Marine and Truck Cab Applications: Whispermat1 can be customized with closed-cell foams to address moisture concerns in marine environments or truck cabs.
